YOUTH SYMPOSIUM

The Sigma Youth Symposium is designed to highlight some of the prevalent concerns that negatively impact our youth: drugs, teen violence, abuse, low self-esteem, suicide, teen pregnancy, and more. Traditionally held on the second Saturday of March by Alumnae Chapters nationwide, as a unified effort to support our youth, simultaneous Sigma Youth Symposiums address issues that affect young people today.

Last year's theme was "Let's talk about Self Care!"

We had 42 youth pre-registered and 56 attended! We had 30 adults pre-registered and 45 attended. Our final number of participants was 101! We had 7 amazing speakers who were able to captivate our participants as well as equipped them with long-lasting tools to promote their own self-care. Thank you to our Rhoers, Rhosebuds, and Philos for being available in our resource area. Thank you to our Health and Wellness Committee for the fresh fruit and beneficial facts on eating healthy information. Special thank you to the Rethink Your Drink Campaign for providing information and take-aways for our participants. Kudus to the Community Service Committee for making sure we had plenty of volunteers. Sorors your participation was priceless. And lastly, thank you to the Committee for all your efforts, your donations, and your time spent to make sure that one of our first all-inclusive events since the Pandemic was a major success.
