MARCH OF DIMES

The Alpha Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., stands with our national sisterhood in a bold partnership with the March of Dimes, dedicated to ensuring every mother and infant has the healthiest possible start. Through our national program Project CRADLE Care, we collaborate with the March of Dimes to address the systemic and health-outcome challenges disproportionately impacting Black women and children — including preterm birth, implicit-bias in care, and access to prenatal education.

As part of this effort, members join forces to: fundraise and walk in the “March for Babies,” prepare and distribute care-kits for families in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs), conduct prenatal-education workshops, and host community baby-showers for military families and underserved parents.

While our national organization has built this partnership over decades, the Alpha Sigma Chapter is committed to keeping the work local in Indianapolis — translating that vision into tangible service, advocacy, and outreach here in our community.

We invite you to join us in this mission: whether as a volunteer, donor, or advocate, you can help improve maternal and infant health outcomes in Central Indiana and beyond.
