The Alpha Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. is pleased to announce that the scholarship application period is open to all high school and current undergraduate college students.  This year, Alpha Sigma will give two (2) $2,000 non-renewable scholarships.

 

One scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior and one to a current undergraduate college student. There will also be two (2) $500 book scholarship awarded to additional students. 

Application Period: April 1, 2021 – April, 30, 2021 – Completed application must be received by this date. Winners will be notified by May 15, 2021.

Applications must include the following items:

·       A completed application form with required signature(s)

·       An official, signed and/or embossed seal transcript or the official electronic equivalent from the school

·       One letter of recommendation

·       A typed essay (max 1200 words) in response to the topic question

·       A signature from a parent or guardian (if under 18 years old)

Completed applications should be submitted electronically to the email address below. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. Entire application should be submitted together. All completed applications and/or questions should be directed to AlphaSigmaSGRHOScholarship@gmail.com.

2020 High School Scholarship Recipients

The first $1,000 scholarship winner in the high school division is Nyah Conway, who is a graduate of Cathedral High School. She will be attending Ohio State this fall and her field of study is healthcare and nutrition.
 

The second $1,000 scholarship winner is Aniya Harris, who is a graduate of Pike High School. She will be attending Indiana University-Bloomington this fall and her field of study is neonatologist.

2020 Collegiate Scholarship Recipients

The first $1,000 scholarship winner in the collegiate division is Kiara Haynes, daughter of Soror Elwanda Haynes. She will continue studying forensic psychology at Howard University this fall.

The second $1,000 scholarship winner is Soror Tavyn Smith, a current member of the Marvelous Mu Chapter. This fall, she will continue studying elementary education at Ball State University.

The $1,000 scholarship winner in the high school division is Kiana Jackson, a graduating senior from Ben Davis High School. She will be attending Butler University this fall and her field of study is chemistry/pre-med.

 

The $1,000 scholarship winner in the collegiate division is Alexis Cheatham from Franklin College. She is a junior that will continue her studies towards psychology, creative writing and English.

 

The $500 book scholarship was rewarded to Aaliyah Prim, a graduating senior from Warren Central High School. She will be attending Ball State University this fall and her field of study is broadcasting.
