SOCIAL ACTION INITIATIVES
Golden Alert℠ refers to the sorority’s social and legislative action activities, initiatives and programming designed to empower and engage by providing meaningful resources, action plans and solutions for the communities it serves. Golden Alert issues can be those which call for immediate action to address the various issues and conditions plaguing our communities.
STORM DISASTER RELIEF
Alpha Sigma Social Action is collaborating with the Alpha Sigma Sigma chapter (Gary, Indiana) Zeta Gamma Sigma (East Chicago) and community partner City Life Center to support storm recovery efforts in Gary and Northwest Indiana following recent severe storms and extended power outages that impacted area residents.
The October 10 Get in Action Day will bring sorors together for a day centered on community service, sisterhood, and fellowship while supporting local recovery efforts.
This Day of Service is part of a broader September–October Social Action campaign that will include community education, collection of requested donations, and opportunities for members to directly support Northwest Indiana residents.
