About the event
Sigma Gamma Rho’s National program Project Cradle Care is working to improve the care for infants and children in the Black community.
Buckling children by age and size in appropriate car seats, booster seats, and seat belts reduces the risk of serious and fatal injuries. Black and Hispanic children have higher proportions of unrestrained child deaths compared to other races and ethnicities. A study of data from 2009–2010 indicated that 45% of Black children and 46% of Hispanic children were not buckled up, compared with 26% of White children (among children 12 and younger).
