Alpha Sigma and Affiliates support 2026 Sista Strut Breast Cancer Awareness Walk

On October 17, 2026, Alpha Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. & Alpha Sigma Chapter Philo Affiliates, Alpha Sigma Rhoer Club, family, friends participated in the 2026 Sista Strut initiative Breast Cancer Awareness.This month, we honor those whose lives have been impacted by breast cancer.

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. established the Womens Wellness Initiative. The Women’s Wellness Initiative was developed after the Sorority’s participation in the United Nations/March of Dimes Prematurity Awareness panel in New York.

The initiative empowers chapters to address health issues that disproportionately impact women, particularly women of color. We celebrate breast cancer survivors and honor their strength while working diligently to raise awareness and help create a future with more survivors.

Under the leadrship of our National Projects Chair, Yvolanda Hutch, our chapter was a sponsor for this year's and we look forward to supporting in the future.
