I Am My Sisters Keeper
Hello 👋 Sorors! I am Soror Shante’ Patrice Kidd and It is with great honor that I stand before you today to announce my candidacy for the position of Elections Chair with Alpha Sigma. I want to thank you all for your support and encouragement as I embark on this new journey. Our sorority is a place for Sisterhood, Learning, Growth, and Community. If elected as your 2026-2028 elections chair, I will continue to stay committed on working harmoniously together with my sisters to ensure we continue to uphold these values.
For those of you that do not know me, I was born and raised in Gary Indiana just 2 hours away from West Lafayette IN, where I attended college and graduated from Purdue University. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management in August 2006. While pursuing my undergraduate degree, I initiated my journey with Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc in spring 2005 at the GlamRhous Epsilon Gamma Chapter. After graduating I transitioned to Alpha Sigma Sigma Alumni Chapter where I continue to be mentored by several Culture Pearls of Sigma Gamma Rho while pursuing my Master of Science in Human Resources Management in August 2009 from Keller Graduate School of Management.
For the last 21 years I have continued to uphold “Sigma Image”, stayed committed to My Sister’s Keeper, give back to my community and support the youth through leadership while leading by example. My Intent is to continue to streamline the elections process by managing the integrity and operations of Alpha Sigma’s elections and voting process, act as a leader, coordinator, communicate and handle paper/electronic ballots, conduct a honest and proper vote count, and ensuring compliance with Alpha Sigma bylaws.
With that being said I hope this brief message fills your Sigma Hearts and has given you a little bit about me. Enough for you to VOTE FOR Shaunie!
